How to Order the Right Size
Hand Knit Baby Wear recommend always measuring before ordering if possible. A long, slim baby will have a different chest size to a short, chubby one, even though they may be the same age.
As a rough guide most knitting patterns suggest the following chest measurements :
-
Premature up to 12"
-
Early 14" - 16"
-
Small newborn 16"
-
0 - 3 months 16" - 18"
-
3 - 6 months 18" - 20"
-
6 - 9 months 20" - 22"
-
9 - 12 months 22" - 24"
-
12 - 15 - 18 months 22"/24"/26"
These measurements are meant as a general guide. No two babies are the same so rather than be disappointed it is better to purchase a slightly larger size as baby will always grow into it !
All our measurements are actual size, so an 18" cardigan will fit up to an 18" chest, but no larger. Our sleeve measurements are taken from armpit to cuff. The length of the garment is measured on the back from the neck seam to the bottom of the hem, not including the collar unless stated.
ALL BUTTONS ARE SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE GARMENTS WE SELL, HOWEVER WE RECOMMEND CHECKING THEM EVERY TIME THE ITEMS ARE WASHED.
ALL OF OUR BABY CLOTHES, BLANKETS AND SHAWLS ARE HAND KNITTED IN THE UK.
